My inspiration also comes from my three children. My children are artistic in their own way. Each has gifts and abilities that remind me that God
has created them unique and that He shows His art through their
abilities. So, whether it's through their painting, their writing, their
athleticism, their leadership--it inspires me to praise the Creator, for
they are each a gift given by Him.
God is my Inspiration...and I can no longer be silent.

Inspiration
"The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection." --Michelangelo
Ultimately, my inspiration comes from God--a God who loves not just me but ALL of mankind as He declared when He sent Jesus and as He continues to declare daily through the Holy Spirit. That is my divine inspiration.
But the world around me also inspires me, especially words written by others who have gone before--those who are not known to be "artists" professionally but who were creative none-the-less. Thus, a man like Einstein inspires me in quotes like the following:
"True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist."
"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious."
(I love this quote because I have this quirky curiosity that sometimes drives my family bonkers.)
My irresistible urge started when I was in Grade 2, when I won $2.00 for a drawing. It was a simple, typical drawing of a house surrounded by flowers and a sun. I guess the judges saw something in it. Then when I was 12 I started my first "novel." It was the story of an alien creature (I have always been fascinated with sci-fi) and his adventures on his planet (with illustrations). In a small house with many siblings, it felt the only thing that was wholly mine. I kept it in a large brown envelope and slid it between the wall and a pile of toys in my closet. Sometimes it would sit there for days without me giving it a second thought. Then, one day, when I went to retrieve it, it was gone. My manuscript was gone, discarded as garbage. I do not blame my mother for throwing it away. There was so much clutter in the bedroom shared with two siblings, that I'm sure she saw it as just another piece of garbage. The only thing I remember was a sadness and a feeling of, "why bother." So, I never re-wrote any of it but to this day I can still see the pictures of my little alien creature in my mind.
God is patient. God is kind. Off and on through my life I have had glimpses of His desire to see me release my creative side. In the last six years, the urge has been building. The Spirit has been moving in my heart and in my soul and I have not been able to keep silent any longer. Thus, this blog is my simple declaration to God that I will obey. It is a simple offering to the God who sacrificed ALL because of how much He loves me.
